Catherine Sturgeon is the Adult Services Librarian at the Vermont Square Branch Library. A second-generation Los Angeles native, she was inspired to attend library school at San Jose State University later in life, following an undergraduate degree in Developmental Psychology and working at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Although her emphasis in graduate school was archives, she became interested in public librarianship when she volunteered at the Los Angeles Public Library’s Venice branch. She later worked as a Page for Santa Monica Public Library before being hired by LAPL in 2015.
