Silent Auction Scholarships Fundraiser

Bidding is now open here.

Our annual Elizabeth Martinez & Dr. Karin Duran Scholarships Fundraiser helps us raise funds to support library school students in Los Angeles. In lieu of an in person event this year we will be holding a virtual Silent Auction with items generously donated by our Board and partners.

The bidding will start on Sunday November 8, 2020 and will run between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm (PST). The auction will be sent out via email and the link will be added to our social media accounts on Sunday morning.

In preparation for the event, please review the rules below and head over to our site to preview our items.

General Rules:

  1. Online bidding will be open from 6:00 am PST to 6:00pm PST on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

  2. Auction item purchases are final. No returns, or exchanges will be issued. All items are “as is”.

  3. You may bid on any number of items in the Silent Auction until closing time.

  4. Bidders are responsible for checking delivery on each item. Please note that some items are available for pick up only and cannot be shipped. All pick up items will be available for pick up in the City of Commerce.

  5. If a winner is unable to pick up the item, the item will be offered to the next highest bidder that can make the pickup.

  6. Winning bidders will be contacted within 1 day of November 8 to arrange payment and delivery/pickup.

  7. Age will need to be verified before declaring a winner for items that contain alcohol. If a winner cannot verify age the item will be offered to the next highest bidder that qualifies.

  8. Winners have until November 12 to claim their item by confirming payment and delivery/pick-up information . Any item left unclaimed will be offered to the next highest bidder.

  9. Payment for items purchased must be made in full. We accept payment by check or online through our portal.

  10. Reforma LA provides no guarantees, or warranties on auction items.

How to Bid:

  1. To make a bid for the Online Silent Auction item, select the link for the desired item in the newsletter or site.

  2. Check the item’s current highest bid by clicking on the link in the description.

  3. Return to the form and enter your name, bid amount, and contact information.

  4. The opening bid on each item must be at least the minimum bid indicated for each item in the for description. Each subsequent bid must follow the minimum increment of $5.00. Any bids not adhering to this format will be declared invalid and voided.

  5. Once the auction is declared closed, the highest bid entered that adheres to the designated increment will be declared as the winner of the item. In the event of a dispute, Reforma LA will act as the final authority.

  6. By bidding in the Online Silent Auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules.
